Fire-Resistant Joint Sealing
For fire-rated applications requiring fire resistance and smoke/fire spread control, such as firestopping around cable/pipe penetrations and fire-resistant sealing of joints/penetration annular gaps. The objective is to form a fire barrier and limit the passage of smoke and flames through sealed openings under fire conditions.
Shall comply with project specifications and applicable local regulations. The attachments mainly describe coating/membrane types, application contexts, and general performance characteristics (e.g., low VOC, UV resistance, durability, flexibility/film formation, crack-bridging). Exact performance metrics, thickness/application details, and acceptance criteria shall follow the project documents and test reports.
EN 1366-4 (firestop/penetration-related), BS 476 Part 20:1987 (fire resistance classification-related), and ASTM E84 Class A (surface burning characteristics related).
UL,SCDF Fire Code
Intended for linear joint & gap sealing in compartment walls and floors to reinstate fire separation performance. Reported fire performance in the provided documents: Walls: 240 minutes (EI 240); Floors: 120 minutes (EI 120) (under the stated installation/build-up conditions).
